HOWE GREEN FLUSHED WITH CAPITAL SUCCESS

The Gherkin Swiss Re building

Howe Green, the UK’s leading developer and manufacturer of floor, ceiling and wall access solutions, has completed a major project at London’s acclaimed Gherkin Swiss Re building.

The company was commissioned by contractor Westminster to provide access panels for investment firm Orient Global’s toilet facilities on level 30 of the stunning building described by the Wall Street Journal as, "the most ingenious and elegant new skyscraper built anywhere in the world for the last 30 years."

Howe Green was called in to create a solution that would seamlessly blend with the minimalist, stylized interior of the bathrooms. These would have to safely cover all the plumbing and automatic electrical controls for the toilets and urinals.

Howe Green supplied Orient Global with its Waldor 65 hinged wall panels, made to perfectly match the existing tiling. The large panels, measuring over 1.2m by 800mm, also featured a stainless steel edge trim to give attractive clean lines to the finished product.

Each of the panels was manufactured from 1.2mm thick, corrosion resistant stainless steel and a simple, concealed security lock prevents tampering while allowing easy maintenance access.

Like all of Howe Green’s products, the wall panels were made to measure to the exact client specifications. The company’s innovative solution is able to produce any size of panel without the cost implications usually associated with made-to-measure products.
